Specimens are imported from insect farms and ranches distributed throughout the earth. Farm-raised insects are nurtured in their own environment by people that care about them and their places of origin. This sensibility protects the forests and land and promotes future generations of the species.

Butterfly ranching creates a sustainable means of income in impoverished countries, while protecting their forest land and habitat at the same time. Both the villagers and the wildlife benefit.

A majority of the insects live out their natural lives thru all stages, from egg to caterpillar to moth or butterfly in protection from predators. In unprotected and non-nurtured surroundings the survival rate is rather slim.

Me? I like the unique beauty of insects– all shapes and sizes! I like making displays for others to enjoy. Mom loved the one I made for her years ago– A LOT (so did her friends and relatives!) thus my epic journey began.
